Indexed I/O allows you to add search terms in bulk from the admin area. Navigate to the "Search Term" tab, then hit "New Search Terms" to get started.
This will open a window where you can paste in your list of terms, or choose an earlier list to use as a starting point.
Once you've added a list of terms, review it to make sure there are no errors. Lines with syntax errors will be highlighted in red, and will prevent the term list from running.
This area utilizes DT Search Syntax, unlike the basic quick search bar which uses Lucene Syntax. The following operators can be used in this area.
| dtSearch Feature | Example |
| Boolean logic (AND, OR, NOT) | dog AND cat |
| Grouping () | (cat OR dog) AND fish |
| Proximity (W/, PRE/) | cat W/5 dog |
| Field search | title CONTAINS contract |
| Phrase search | "dog cat" |
| Regex ("##") | "##dog.*cat" |
| Wildcards (*, ?) | email*, rep??t |
After resolving any syntax issues you can run your search term list with the button at the top. Once it completes you'll see a summary. You can also download the hit report, and view individual or all term hits by clicking the corresponding buttons.
Terms run in this area are also tagged automatically, and will be available to use in advanced searches. Drag out a "Search Term" field, choose the list to pull from, then select the term(s) you want to search for.
The reports in this area include several categories, which are broken down below.
Search Term Totals
Total Documents: Total number of de duped hits for this search term/term list
Unique Parent Hits: Total number of de duped hits on parent resources for this search term/term list
Unique Hits: Total number of de duped hits for this search term/term list, ignoring any documents that hit on more than one search term.
Unique Hits Within Family: The "Unique Hits" documents, with any related family items pulled into the totals.
Custodian Totals
Number of Items: This is the number of "Unique Hits Within Family" from the prior report, broken down by specific custodians.
NOTE: All searches run in this area are run against the "FullText" metadata field, and automatically remove items tagged by the system as duplicates. This area is not a one-to-one match to terms entered into the quick search bar, and you should review your terms to make sure they're using the appropriate syntax.
